Meeting in Melilla, April 2017




In April 2017 we met our partner schools again. This time we had also our students with us. The students lived in the Spanish host families and participated the lives of their host sisters and brothers. 





Our students Alexandra and Ossi represented Finland together with students from Laanila High School.



At the internationell brunch Alexandra and Ossi taught the others to make some typical Finnish-Swedish starters, rye bread with cold potatoes and salmon.



We got to know also a lot of Melilla´s Old Town, Melilla la Vieja,  with Spanish students as our guides.

Melilla, located on the north coast of Africa, is an unique place, and it's also a port for the immigrants to reach Europe. During the week we learned for example about the four religions living in harmony beside each others. We also heard about fantastic work that is been done with the immigrants and less fortune children and young people.

The week was amazing and fruitful. We all learned a lot not only about the global perspective but also about ourselves.
